Prime Time

The Transformers are back tonight, Michael Bay-lessly, in a new mini-series called Transformers: Prime. Not only do the Autobots and Decepticons look more like their original selves, but Megatron even has his real voice back, courtesy of Frank Welker.

Catch Transformers: Prime tonight on The Hub. And the child in me lives on...

Dave, Dave, Dave. . .put away the short pants and buy yourself a pair of long pants. It's time, Dave. ;)

Maybe Dave's Auntie Mame will give him a pair of long pants for Christmas, which, come to think of it, she's probably already celebrated. She needed it.

Right this very minute, Hal. Right this very minute.

This one went right over my head. (Though I know Bea was in Mame!)

Well, then not completely over your head. In the play (and the Rosalind Russell movie of the play and in the Angela Lansbury musical of the play and the Lucille Ball movie of the musical), Mame declares it to be Christmas at the end of November after a bad day. The musical turned this into a song, "We Need a Little Christmas (right this very minute)." In all versions, Mame gives her young nephew, Patrick, his first long pants. And yes, Bea was in the original stage production (opposite Angela) and the terrible Lucille Ball movie. Phew! I'm exhausted!

Ha! I e-mailed Dave last night with a synopsis of the same "Mame" moment. Dave now has more information about the musical than he could ever need. . .or want.
