Hope you all had a great July 4th weekend. This was one of many pictures I took from Manhattan's West Side Highway, where we went to watch the fireworks. It was a great evening with thousands of descendants of the tired, the poor and the huddled masses all screaming for colorful explosions in the sky. Unfortunately, Apple's super high-tech iPhone camera coudn't quite capture that joy without blurring it all up. I'm guessing a descendant of it will do better one day. You know, one generation picking up where the last one left off. A true American story.
