Drumroll, Please...

Since I can safely assume that most of you who come here subscribe to the show, then you probably know that the name change has already taken affect.  "So What, Who Cares?" is officially Joy Behar's to keep, and Ben and my new (old) show is now, "Ben and Dave's Six Pack."  Not only did we combine some of the gays favorite things; drinking and abs, but each show will also have six segments, which wraps the whole thing together quite nicely.  If you haven't already subscribed, make it happen or we're gonna sick our goons on you.

I think that's my first ever public threat here on Rubinville.  Not bad for 1,084 posts...

A Hint...Of Lime

Alright, so I know I've been a little MIA here, mainly because of the apartment overhaul and cuz of "So What, Who Cares?".  Well, finally, the overhaul is complete, and the show with Ben is out in full-force.  So, I can get back to business here.  Just in time, too, because the head of the Board of Tourism has been making harassing phone calls to me every single night.

A bunch of you have been asking about the announcement that we made in Episode 5 about our name change.  We are, in fact, dropping the name "So What...", and renaming the show as of today.  (Listen in to Episode 5 to find out why.)  I should have new graphics up in a day or two, and your subscriptions on iTunes should remain the same.

So why the picture of the beers, Dave?  

It's a hint as to the new name.  Any guesses?*

Well Hung

Yea, that's right, not only do I paint and spackle, sand and buff, but I also hang.  Yesterday we hung the TV in the bedroom, and I'm proud to say that a day later it is still on the wall.  I'm told that when you mount a TV to the wall that the first 24 hours are key, so it looks like we're in the clear. Finally, I can watch all that quality network programming while (sleeping) in bed.

The Fumes Are The Best Part

We're three days into the painting and redecorating of the Rubinville Compound.  As you can see by my effective use of the drop-cloth, I am a stickler for detail and cleanliness.  Today is going to involve spackling, sanding and more painting unless is gets over 80 degrees outside, in which case Central Park will be calling.  I'd have to pay Emma time and a half to do the work herself, but life is all about choices. 

Alright, lemme get started here.  Hmm, now where did I leave my mixing stick?

...day of painting, shifting, redecorating and re-redecorating. Even mounted a TV, which isn't as dirty as it sounds.

So What, Who Cares? (Besides You, Of Course)

I have to say that probably the best part of having a website (besides the implied success that having one comes with), is that when I don't post for a couple days I usually get a couple e-mails asking if I am alright.  So yes, I'm fine, just been caught up in a couple things.

One of those things, as you probably have noticed already, is my new podcast with friend, confidante and personal DJ, Ben Harvey.  We'll be doing new shows weekly, and three are posted already.  In case you haven't listened yet, click this link and it'll take you to our page on iTunes...

I Need A New Umbrella-ella-ella-ella

It has been raining here for days, which is nice because I understand it will wash away the extra Swine Flu off the streets, but really sucks when you have to walk a dog.  Emma has had wet-dog smell for days, and I'm starting to get guy-who-walks-dog-smell.  Yea, we're quite a combo.

May 4 is called Star Wars Day because of a pun or play on words based on the similarity between "May the 4th be with you" and "May the force be with you", a phrase often spoken in the Star Wars movies.

Who would've thunk that after all these years there would be something about Star Wars that I didn't know?  And not just something, but a full day.  Life, people, it really never stops surprising you.

In economic news, Filene's Basement has just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  If this means that they are going to start closing stores, this is going to cause a major problem for my slightly-irregular underwear selection.

Actually, I better get over there now and find some half boxer-half bikini briefs before they are sold out...
