The First Four Years

Today is Carlos' and my fourth anniversary.  We're going out to dinner tonight to the same restaurant that we went to on our first date, an italian restaurant on the Upper West Side, called Pomodoro.  If that name rings a bell for you, it might be because this is the very same Pomodoro restaurant that Jerry told George everybody goes to break up in a season eight episode of Seinfeld.

Assuming life doesn't imitate art, it should be a perfectly lovely evening.

Four years. Wow, I really am some kind of gay from the future or something...

A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy...Oh, Wait, Wrong Story...

I'm off to Jersey for a couple days to do the Passover thing with the family.  We will retell the eternal story of the Hebrews freedom from slavery and everything else you saw Charlton Heston do, just with less guns.  My favorite part is the mandatory four glasses of wine that must be drank during the Seder.  Call me a zealot, but it is my religious duty.

Have a good Easter/Passover/Kwanzaa 2/Whatever else you might celebrate...

For those of you who aren't friends with my on Facebook (and why in the lord's good name aren't you?), here is a picture of me doing some rock-climbing a few days ago.  I would've just swung up to the top, but my web-shooters were out of fluid after a night of saving people from broken ski-lifts.

Oprah has Dr. Oz on today discussing the "Blue Zones" which are four places in the world where people live the longest.  Basically, you should live in a nice sunny place, eat good foods and get regular exercise.  Sucks for those Alaskan, cheeseburger-loving, couch potatoes, doesn't it?

I just Febrezed the couch and I think I'm getting mildy high.  Lemme enjoy this...

I am back in the big city after a couple great days in Vermont.  I snapped this picture just after a little mid-day rain, and it is quite artistic, if I do say so myself.

Lemme get a run in and then I'll have a full post for ya...

The Mountain Dew Paradox

As I write this, after a day of working out, more quality time in the hottub and my first ever rock climb, I am drinking a Mountain Dew. It really tastes like carbonated urine. Why in the world are people drinking this crap?

And that is what is known as The Mountain Dew Paradox; understanding the irony of saying that I rock climbed today, yet don't like Mountain Dew, the official drink of rock climbers everywhere...

Fireside Chat

I am sitting in front of the fireplace here at my pal's cabin in Vermont. We just hit the outdoor hottub and then had a nice relaxing dinner. Assuming this doesn't turn into some kind of Friday the 13th situation, I sense a really relaxing couple days.

There is just something about sitting in front of a fire after some wine and a hottub that really makes you appreciate the simple things in life.

Oh lemme go, there is a knock on the door, it looks like a perfectly nice fellow wearing a hockey mask...

Next Stop: Vermont

Hi everyone. I am writing this from my iPhone while on a train out to Jersey to meet my old buddy Jon for a trip to Vermont. It's a last minute excursion just to clear the mind and drink plenty of maple syrup. Just what I've needed.

I will post while I am gone to make up for the sporadic posting lately. Oh, and the announcment that I mentioned is still coming, lemme just get a couple glasses of syrup in me first...
